What a fantastic week Year Six and staff have had at Condover Hall, Shrewsbury. A big thank you to the parents and family members for allowing your children to be part of this challenging, yet rewarding experience.
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by our Condover activity instructors, who were with our groups throughout the whole trip. The girls and boys settled straight into their dorm rooms, and the activities commenced. Since Tuesday afternoon, the children (and staff) have had a full, fun packed itinerary including lots of team building skills, braving the climbing wall, attempting the gladiator challenge, tunneling, lazer maze, sporting activities such as archery and fencing plus much more.
Each night, the activity instructors provided night time activities such as quizzes, a live game of cluedo (where the Meir Heath teachers got involved and dressed up as the suspects in the case of ‘Billy the Banana’) and a camp fire with a good old sing song!
All children attempted all activities and had a fantastic, positive mindset. As staff, we all said that as long as the children had a go and tried their best, then that’s all that matters! This trip has allowed us to support your child in developing their resilience, stepping out of their comfort zone and working in teams,. It has also been a super icebreaker, getting to know their new teachers!
All children and teachers have received a personalised certificate from their activity instructor. A great way to start off the new academic year Year Six – well done!
