Thank you so much to all of our parents, children and staff who fully embraced our David Walliams theme for World Book Day. This morning we had a parade in assembly so that we could share and show off our costumes to each other.
We had many members of the Midnight Gang, lots of Demon Dentists, some cool Gangsta Grannies, a few Billionaire Boys and lots more! We even had our very own David Walliams join us (Please see the below picture!! Thank you).
Children have been given a £1 book token this afternoon. We hope you take the opportunity to use it to buy a new book. If you go to the World Book Day website, there is a list of books that you can buy with your token without any extra cost! We hope to see you all at the School Book Fair!
This week has been very busy. Each year group has focused their learning on one of the many David Walliams books.
Year Six have been writing descriptions of their own Awful Aunties (all fiction of course!!)
Year Five have been writing their own version of a ‘World’s Worst Child’.
Year Four have been learning about Mr Stink and writing diary entries.
Year Three have been learning about play scripts, ready for their own book trailer for Gangsta Granny. Y3S also had a Drama activity called ‘Conscience Alley’ this morning where the class tried to persuaded Gangsta Granny (our very own Ellie!) to either become a full time Gangsta or to go back to being a ‘normal’ Granny!
Year Two have been writing their own version of ‘The Slightly annoying Elephant’ by picking their own annoying animal!
Year One have made their own snakes in art for ‘There’s a Snake in my School!’ as well as missing posters!
Reception have learnt all about, ‘The First Hippo on the Moon’ and they have written the top 10 things that they would like to take to the moon with them!
Wow – what a lot of learning! Meir Heath Magic 🙂 Happy World Book Week!!
